How we list, rate and rank pros
This page explains where our listings come from, what the ratings mean, how results are ordered, and what paid placement does and does not change. Last reviewed October 2026.
Where listings come from
We build the directory from public records, starting with each business’s Google Business Profile. For every company we record the name, city, services, Google rating and review count, and, where published, opening hours and the business’s own description. We only list businesses whose profile shows them doing foundation, waterproofing, crawl space or concrete work in the cities we cover. We do not copy Google review text or photos.
A business does not need to pay, or even know about us, to be listed. Owners can claim the listing for free, which lets them correct details, add photos and hours, and receive quote requests directly.
Free and paid listings
- Free listings show the business name, city, services and Google rating. Phone numbers and addresses are not shown; homeowners reach the business through our quote form.
- Featured listings ($149/month) show the full contact details, logo and more photos, and appear above free listings in search results and on the map.
- Premium spots are one sponsored position per city and service, shown first and labelled “Paid advertisement”.
Paid placement changes position only. It never changes a rating, review count or badge, and it is always labelled.
What the ratings mean
Stars marked “on Google” are the business’s live Google rating and review count, refreshed from Google periodically. We display them unchanged and do not let businesses edit them. Reviews collected on Yes Home Pros are separate, marked “verified”, and come only from homeowners who sent a quote request through this site and later told us how the job went.
How results are ordered
On a city or service page, results are ordered as follows:
- The Premium spot for that city and service, if one is sold (labelled).
- Featured listings, ordered by rating and review count.
- Free listings, ordered by rating and review count, with businesses that have very few reviews placed below those with a track record.
Rating and review count are weighted together, so a 4.9 from 8 reviews does not outrank a 4.8 from 200. Claimed listings with complete profiles may rank a little higher than unclaimed ones within the same tier because they give homeowners more to go on.
The Verified badge
Verified is shown only after we have seen a current certificate of general liability insurance and, where the trade requires it, a state or city licence or registration. It cannot be purchased, it is re-checked yearly, and it is removed if a document lapses. Even so, confirm coverage yourself before work starts.
Removals and corrections
We remove listings for businesses that have closed, that ask to be removed, or that we find misrepresenting their licence or insurance status. To report a problem with a listing, use the contact form with the business name and city.
Our guides and cost figures
City and service guides are written by the Yes Home Pros team and reviewed against public sources: USDA soil surveys, the Harris-Galveston Subsidence District, the City of Houston Permitting Center, the Texas Department of Insurance, and published cost data from national home-services sites. Each guide lists its sources and the date it was last reviewed. Cost ranges are for orientation; every project is different and only an on-site estimate is a quote.
